Hyperopia

Hyperopia

Hyperopia, or long sightedness, is where the eye is too short and this causes light which enters the eye to focus behind the retina (back of the eye) rather than on the retina. This causes problems like headaches and tired eyes when concentrating on close up things like books, phones and laptops.

Hyperopia is common and usually does not need correction, but when it is causing symptoms like above, we can recommend glasses or contact lenses to reduce the stress on your eye muscles so you can get back to what you love doing.

At Murray Opticians, we do a vision check as part of your full eye check every 2 years or if you feel there is a change in your vision.
